Aqua 8's & ankle breaks...

World can't hold me, too much ambition!

*sigh*
Hey Dolls!!
As you can see I'm immobile at the moment. I broke my ankle about a month ago & it has been really hard physically as well as mentally, but I'm trying to remain sane. I never been one to depend on others & now thats all I can do. I'm my own person and I like to do things on my own but now I need everyone; this is truly a humbling experience, I will never take any of my limbs for granted AGAIN!
For the past month I've been on bed rest, basically I couldn't do anything but lay in the bed with my leg elevated, which was beyond torture. I went from doing it all to doing nothing at all smh I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
Anyway enough with the negative, this time away from the real world has definitely put a lot of things into perspective for me. I'm using this time to perfect my craft - study it & research as much as I can about this thing called fashion. Not being about to get inspiration from the outside world has been difficult but it allowed me to work harder and become more creative. Things I would have never done, I actually considered, and accomplished. I'm learning to do things on my own, like my hair, makeup, & nails since I have nothing but time on my hands. Anything I can get my hands on to keep me busy I'm doing.
I'm out of work & I'm missing a lot of styling opportunities but I know that God will provide me with even greater opportunities when this is all over. This can actually be a miserable and depressing experience but I refuse to let it get the best of me. A broken ankle can only last a couple of weeks but my well being & sanity can last for a lifetime. Instead of compromising those things I just have to accept it and make the best of things. I'm actually getting use to the idea of people waiting hand & foot on me lol!
One thing I cant wait to do again is put on some HEELS! Omgeee I'm deprived. I swear once I can put on some real clothes that dont consist of anything stretchy and I can actually put on a pair of shoes, not just one, its gonna be OVER! I'm going to treat everyday like its a fashion show!

I actually just started reading this book a week ago. Anybody who aspires to be a stylist should read this book.

I got this earrings from the wholesale district in NYC a month or so ago (before the broken ankle). They're cool as is but knowing me I had to swag them out, so.....

I got some paint & the transformation began, cant wait to rock these!

These are just a few of the things I've been doing lately, I'm just taking it one day at a time. I'm still on crutches but I can leave the bed & move around now, lets see what I get into this week, stay tuned!!

HAPPY WATCH THE THRONE MONDAY!!

Anybody that knows me, follows me on twitter, or is friends with me on facebook knows that I am the BIGGEST Jay-Z fan, and today my long awaited hopes, dreams, and prayers have been answered once again when the digital copy of Kanye West & Jay-Z's long awaited and highly anticipated collaborative album Watch the Throne was released.
I've been listening to this album for the last 2 hours and all I can say is that it is AMAZING. Rarely does an album of such great magnitude live up to its hype but I can honestly say that Watch The Throne is everything people have been proclaiming it to be. The chemistry between Jay and Kanye is fluid and the production on the album is impeccable. My early favorites are No Church In The Wild, N*ggas In Paris, Gotta Have It, New Day, Lift Off, Murder To Excellence, & Illest Motherf**ker Alive!
I love Jay & Kanye for their ability to make great music without having to worry about album sales. They can do a lot of things most artists wouldn't dream of doing - releasing an album without a single or video or having a 3 minute pause at the beginning of a song. They're vets in the game and I truly appreciate them for just not giving a f*ck and making classic music!

....lookin' like wealth, I'm about to call the paparazzi on myself!

Hey dolls!!
I had a photo shoot a couple weeks ago and these are the rough images I captured behind the scenes. I loved working with everyone, they were very professional and their work ethic is amazing, I cant wait to have the opportunity to work with them again. Its crazy I ended up being the wardrobe stylist & the hair stylist for this shoot because the hair stylist bailed at literally the last minute - I'm sure she's gonna regret that when the final retouched images hit Model Mayhem. The inspiration for this shoot was Rihanna/Lady Gaga and I definitely think we nailed it. The model and myself collaborated every step of the way to achieve the desired looks. Stay tuned for the final retouched images coming soon!
