Welcome to my hood!

*sigh* Theres no better place I'd rather be than NYC on a beautiful spring night. Spent the night driving around the city (mainly Brooklyn, DUMBO area) taking pictures and just really taking in the scenery....damn I love my city, no other place on earth like it. Often times you get so wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the city that you truly don't get the opportunity to appreciate it. This is only the tip of the iceberg, this spring/summer I intend to explore the city, and truly appreciate and take in everything that it has to offer.

Until next time...

The Fix Radio

I know what you like, I am your prescription, I'm your physician, I'm your addiction...[Yasssssss!!!]

So I decided to take my talents to the next level and expand beyond the computer screen and the video camera. The idea for a radio show has always lingered in the back of my mind but I never decided to act upon it until now. The Fix Radio will be your FIX - whatever that maybe. From fashion and beauty to relationship and career advice. The title actually has an ambiguous meaning. On one hand we're gonna literally fix some of your issues. Need help with your wardrobe? We got you! On the other hand we will give you what you crave or your fix (what we generally like to call) Your fashion fix, your celeb tea & gossip fix, whatever you yearn for, we got you. The show is 100% interactive and we'll be taking callers throughout most of the show. With that being said, if your seek advice in any area please email us at iwantmyfix@gmail.com and we might select your question to be answered on air. Until then check out out blog, iwantmyfix.wordpress.com, we will be updating the site shortly!

I do this for the culture...

I'm getting back into blogging, I promise <3

So I posted this picture on instagram a few days ago with the caption "I do this for the culture"...most people probably dont know that is a lyric from a Jay-Z song and I'm like the biggest stan on the planet but that's neither here nor there, I do DO this for the culture. Everything I do is done with good intentions and with progression in mind. I do this for my culture...my black culture, my American culture, my African culture, my Native American culture. I do this for the fashion culture, and all the little subcultures (shoutout to the hipsters). I want to represent for people who look like me...act like me...dress like me. If you're reading this blog, I do this for you! I do this for all my YouTube subscribers who not only look up to me but look to me for advice and inspiration, I love you guys and I promise to do THIS to the best of my ability.

Until next time,
Peace & dopeness <3

Hi Kia, can you please give me at least two outfits to go with these shoes? I cant wear crop tops to school or holes in jeans above the knee, everything else is cool:) thanks!

Hey Jada thanks for contacting me, I would love to help you out. I think jean on jean is hot, and it serves as a nice neutral pallet that would make your sneakers really POP and stand out. On the other hand you can play with the colors in the sneakers by mixing and matching different color blazers. Leather skinny pants are dope and can dress up any outfit. Lastly, I gave you the option of just throwing on a leopard top to play off the whole safari theme in the sneakers. If you don't own a leopard top you can always wear a top wit some type of ethnic print. I hope this helps and good luck!

Got my n*ggaz in Paris and they goin' gorilla, huh?

Mr. West's highly anticipated women's line DW debuted during Paris Fashion Week. Yeezy's Spring 2012 collection consisted of stand-alone separates, club wear, provocatively low v cuts, high hems, neutral colors accented with bright hues, & GAG worthy heels....all the ingredients to stir up controversy and get the people going! The critics are going to do what they do best - critic. No, it wasn't the most original collection I've seen but I liked it. The pieces are fresh & clean, and have just enough sauciness. The silhouettes are flattering and he actually presented pieces that everyday women would wear...just the right mix of urban wear & high fashion, I definitely would grab a piece or two if the price is right. Great job Mr. West.

HAPPY WATCH THE THRONE MONDAY!!

Anybody that knows me, follows me on twitter, or is friends with me on facebook knows that I am the BIGGEST Jay-Z fan, and today my long awaited hopes, dreams, and prayers have been answered once again when the digital copy of Kanye West & Jay-Z's long awaited and highly anticipated collaborative album Watch the Throne was released.
I've been listening to this album for the last 2 hours and all I can say is that it is AMAZING. Rarely does an album of such great magnitude live up to its hype but I can honestly say that Watch The Throne is everything people have been proclaiming it to be. The chemistry between Jay and Kanye is fluid and the production on the album is impeccable. My early favorites are No Church In The Wild, N*ggas In Paris, Gotta Have It, New Day, Lift Off, Murder To Excellence, & Illest Motherf**ker Alive!
I love Jay & Kanye for their ability to make great music without having to worry about album sales. They can do a lot of things most artists wouldn't dream of doing - releasing an album without a single or video or having a 3 minute pause at the beginning of a song. They're vets in the game and I truly appreciate them for just not giving a f*ck and making classic music!
